Nebo serves authentic Italian cuisine, from appetizers and pastas, to pizzas and desserts. The menu is based from the Puglia region of Italy. “Our restaurant was based on my mother and grandmother’s food. It’s the style of eating we did, where we had seven or eight different things on the table and tried a little of everything instead of having an appetizer, an entrée and a dessert…very typical of what you do in Italy” said Chef and Co-owner, Carla Pallotta. Pallotta and her sister, Christine, opened the restaurant because they wanted to eat like they ate at home. The restaurant is known for its famous pizzas, as it offers thirty different options, and customers can create their own as well. Its most popular pizza is the “Nebo,” which features traditional sauce, mozzarella and two over easy eggs. Besides the regular menu, Nebo offers a full gluten free menu. Nebo is located at 90 North Washington St. www.neborestaurant.com

The pizzeria offers customers the choice of purchasing an entire pizza or just a slice. Certain locations have community tables, where customers share the dining space, and all locations offer café service. “All the dough is rolled out in front of the customers, and the pizzas are made in an open kitchen, where you can see your pizza being made fresh right there,” said CEO, Barry Proctor. The dough is made in-house daily and they always use fresh ingredients, such as Asiago cheese, premium Parmesan imported from Italy and freshly chopped vegetables. “Our crust is just thin enough, just crispy enough, and just chewy enough. It holds up really well with our sauce and cheese,” Proctor said. Upper Crust’s specialties include pizzas such as “The Uncommon,” which offers a combination of bacon, fresh pineapple and jalapeños for a sweet, salty and spicy taste all in one. Besides Pizza, Upper Crust offers delicious salads and beer and wine. www.theuppercrustpizzeria.com
